Aranjuez Cultural Center

Madrid, Spain

Study under Development

Our proposal for the Aranjuez Cultural Landscape Interpretive Center developed from two main concepts:
- The history of this landscape as affected by the intervention of mankind
- The submission of the landscape to the continuous flow of natural changes

Museography:
“A panoramic view: the space is conceived as a long view towards the landscape, produced by two large screens at the end of the room. The images on the screens give a realistic, full scale, view of what the flower and vegetable gardens in Aranjuez used to look like.
“The flower promenade: the surface of the floor is a representation of the earth, the basis of nourishment and growth. The flowers become the display elements for the exhibit.
“Time: time is interpreted by an engineered ceiling system which uses different lighting techniques, producing the effect of a constantly changing sky. Swings, which serve as reversible displays, are suspended from this sky.
