Andres Atela

As an architect I have had the opportunity to gain experience working in international firms; notably in Spain, the United States, and Singapore. This training has allowed me to understand various styles of teaching as well as approaches to architecture.

With a degree from the A.A. in 1994, I arrived in Paris, working as an associate director, while teaching in different international institutions, such as Princeton, Columbia, A.A, and Cornell.

On January 1, 2000, I founded ATELA ARCHITECTES.
Although the firm is based in Paris, I continue to work in Spain, Mexico, and Singapore, building single-family residences, apartments, and subcontracting for select competitions – all of which allowed me to begin my adventure in architectural design.

We have since diversified our projects, and are now proud to work with clients such as SwissLife (on their historic buildings), the city of Paris (building public facilities), businesses (commercial space), and private clients. This makes it possible to present both small and large-scale projects, creating interior design, exhibition design, public facilities, and competitions for urban planning.

In order to further enrich my design process, I also work with other architects, philosophers, and artists. As teaching is also a rewarding complement to my work, I have been an associate professor at the Ecole Nationale Superieur d’architecture de Paris la Villette since September 2003.
